Important information for your tour

  • You and your travelling party must have a reasonable level of mobility and fitness to walk on the beach and uneven surfaces. Unfortunately, the use of conventional wheelchairs, walker, prams, strollers and other mobility assistance items cannot be accommodated.

  • The tour commences in the early morning (from 5 am to 6.30 am, depending on the season/time of sunrise), departing from the Turtle Sands Meeting Place, located near the camp kitchen. You will be notified of the exact starting time in your booking confirmation.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour commencing, as a compulsory safety briefing will be held before commencing the tour. Please limit noise when gathering for the tour and returning from the tour so you don’t disturb other guests in the resort.

  • A breakfast pack will be available upon tour return.

What to bring

  • Insect repellent (bug spray) and sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses).

  • Drinking water.

  • Footwear suitable for walking on a beach - there are some rocky sections on the beach and caution is needed. There may be occasions where you need to walk in the water.

  • Rain jacket (raincoat) as shelter is limited during rain. Umbrellas are NOT permitted on the beach for safety reasons.

  • A camera to capture those memorable moments.  You must NOT use a flash when taking photos, and you must NOT use a flashlight or other bright light at any time during the tour. You must not photograph or film turtles while they are laying eggs.

When on the tour

  • You must stay on the path and follow the directions of your guide.

  • Please do not make loud sounds (such as clapping or shouting) as they may disturb the turtles.

  • You must remain at least 5m away from any turtle and must not obstruct a turtle’s path to or from the water, stand on or approach turtle tracks, or enter the dune or wave wash areas.

  • All conditions of the Turtle Protection Promise, which you agreed to as part of your stay at Turtle Sands, continue to apply during the tour. We reserve the right to take appropriate action in the event of a material breach of the Turtle Protection Promise, including but not limited to issuing a blacklisting notice and disclosing your personal information, relevant details, and any associated footage relating to the breach to the appropriate government authorities.
